Introducing Ultra Light Rail (ULR)
Producing zero emission lightweight trains and trams suitable for local rail services.
An electric battery solution supplemented by a flywheel to efficiently recover brake energy providing greater range between stops.
No overhead wires or conductor rails required.
Building on over 20 years experience associated with the successful Stourbridge Shuttle operation which has carried over 7 million passengers in the last 13 years with a 99.9% reliability track record.
Introducing Ultra Light Rail Partners Ltd (ULRP)
We are innovators in developing environmentally friendly and efficient ultra light rail vehicles with a 20-year track record.
We can solve future transport needs with our clean, affordable zero-emission rail-based rapid transit solutions. These offer the potential to become the principal mode of transport in towns, cities and rural areas as a catalyst to integrate mobility services.
A lightweight, efficient, e-railcar capable of carrying 120 passengers (train) or 210 passengers (tram: 54 seated and 156 standing). Features include:
- A bogied train with a battery-pack and flywheel as a zero emission standalone powertrain
- A hybrid approach reduces battery dependence and increases the range between charging cycles
- No overhead wires or gantries
- Designed to use opportunity charging stations
- Air quality improved, zero emissions at point of use
- Complies with the Climate Change Committee’s primary focus on electric transport solutions and clean air commitments
- Supports UK government’s commitments to decarbonise rail by 2035 (Scotland) and 2040 (England, Wales and Northern Ireland)
